Parallel Traces – Curating and Creating Experimental Sound Works in Taiwan<\/strong>
Since my first visit to Taipei in 2012, I have been fortunate to establish long-lasting relationships with various Taiwanese artists and organizations. For this occasion, I will talk about how these collaborations have led to the creation of four of my major works: Asian Meeting Festival 2018<\/a> (Taipei Zhongshan Hall and other locations in Taiwan, 2018), Parallel Traces of the Jewel Voice<\/em><\/a> (2022), The Inverted Listening of Explosive Enemy Aircraft Sounds<\/em><\/a> (C-LAB, 2023), and Transformer<\/em> \/ ex-DJ <\/a>(Taipei Biennial, 2023). <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n


dj sniff (Takuro Mizuta Lippit) is a musician and curator in the field of experimental electronic arts and improvised music. His work builds upon a distinct practice that combines DJing, instrument design, and free improvisation. Over the years, he has collaborated with Evan Parker, Otomo Yoshihide, Tarek Atoui, and many others. Takuro holds a B.A. from Keio University Department of Aesthetics and Science of Arts, M.P.S. from NYU Interactive Telecommunications Program, and Ph.D. from De Montfort University Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media. Professionally he has held roles as: Artistic Director of STEIM \u2013 Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music (2007-12), Visiting Assistant Professor at City University of Hong Kong School of Creative Media (2012-17), Associate Professor at Kyoto Seika University Department of Global Studies (2020-22). Currently based in Los Angeles, Takuro is the Co-Director of Asian Meeting Festival (AMF), member of Shared Campus Global Pop Cultures Group and Telematics Summer School led by Zurich University of the Arts. <\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
