The first exhibition in Japan to support Amer Nasser, a filmmaker and photographer facing a severe humanitarian crisis in northern Gaza. Due to the ongoing bombardment by Israel, Amer has lost both his camera and computer. Despite the violence and starvation in the region, he continues to share videos and photos on social media using his smartphone.<\/p>\n

The images he posts are signals of life in Gaza, where internet connectivity is often unreliable. His work quietly captures the experiences of people living through the harsh realities of their circumstances. We have received this powerful message from Amer and wish to share it with the world.<\/p>\n

Profile:
\nAmer Nasser<\/p>\n

Palestinian photographer and filmmaker, born in 1991 in Gaza, is known for producing and directing films that depict the reality of Palestinian refugees and the political, social, and economic situation of Palestinians in Gaza. He has worked as a producer for the UNRWA channel, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.<\/p>\n

In parallel, he has produced and directed several documentary and fiction films, such as “Sara” (feature film, 2014) and “Gaza Small Studio” (2015), which was selected for the Dubai International Film Festival and the Alexandria Film Festival. In 2016, the film “Paper Boat,” which he produced, won the Best Film award at the Palest’ In&Out Festival at the Arab World Institute in Paris, earning him a residency at the Cit\u00e9 Internationale des Arts in Paris. Nasser has also served as an assistant director for the short film “Condom Lead” (2013), which was officially selected at the Cannes Film Festival. He is a member of the Red Carpet Film Festival for Human Rights team in Gaza and regularly collaborates with directors Arab & Tarzan Nasser. In this capacity, he is the screenwriter for their upcoming film, “Once Upon a Time in Gaza” (2024), which received funding from the French CNC (National Center for Cinema) and the European fund Eurimages. He is also the co-screenwriter of the film “About Yakeen” (2026) by the Nasser Brothers. In 2023, his photographic work was exhibited in “What Palestine Brings to the World” exhibition at the Arab World Institute in Paris.<\/p>\n
