Terry Riley 90th Birthday Commemorative Concert \u2013 Fringe Program \u300aWhat makes Terry Riley?\u300b<\/span><\/h1>\n

The American composer, Terry Riley is widely regarded as the founding father of minimal music.
\n<\/span>As he celebrates his 90th birthday this year, what journey has shaped his music?
\n<\/span>This project offers a space for intuitive reflection and exploration of the elements that compose Riley\u2019s music, focusing on the influences that have deeply shaped him, in order to uncover what makes his work so distinctly Terry Riley.
\n<\/span>India, improvisation, repetition…
\n<\/span>Inspired by these key elements, this project continues to ask the question: \u201cWhat makes Terry Riley?\u201d
\n<\/span>With this exhibition, we hope to share with visitors a facet of that inquiry.
\n<\/span>The traces of thought accumulating within this ever-shifting space may themselves become a form of improvisation…?
\n<\/span>Something may arise, or perhaps it may not.
\n<\/span>Whether you\u2019re already familiar with Terry Riley or discovering his work for the first time, we invite you to step into this landscape.
